The touchscreen has come a long way since its introduction into the marketplace.  There was once a time when touchscreen technology could only be accessed through those expensive PDAs that everyone was immediately able to afford at the time.  Well those times are no more, particularly when you consider that you can now find touchscreen technology from the most expensive to the least expensive models on phones today.

HP (Hewlett Packard) is already in its second generation with its HP TouchSmart line.  This is one the companies that is in the marketplace producing touchscreens on its home computers to fill the growing desire to to take personal computers to the next level. The whole point of a unit like this is to provide ease to the family in the home where it is housed.  Be it movies, camcorder, music, or internet usage – the HP TouchSmart has been designed to fit a need.  Now this doesn’t mean the TouchSmart from HP is not without problems, there are still some kinks that reviewers of the product have said need improving (but this shouldn’t stop the HP TouchSmart series from making money).

Multi-Media technology has brought the the future age into the present.  These days it’s not only people like Bill Gates that have access to homes with state of the art technology.  Multi-media technology has advanced to the point of making life at home a lot easier for the everyday middle American. 

These days we have the capability of living inside of homes which literally seem to have a mind of their own.  And because these homes are fit with the latest multi-media technology, residents have access to features that once was only reserved for the super-super rich.   

Some of the things you could utilize with multi-media technology in your home are listed below:

-Home monitoring while away through the internet

-Touch screen pads to handle everything from checking e-mail to controlling a home theater

-Wireless capabilities throughout

-Remoter audio system with amplifier

As far as multi-media technology in homes goes, it can only get better from here.  As processes are streamlined and prices go down, it is only natural that the new technology will be available to all.  Before long we all will be speaking to our homes, and they’ll answer us back.
